Ultrasonic hand-held welding units HW35/HW70

The ultrasonic hand-held welding units in the HW series are ideal for spot welding, riveting, flanging and cutting plastics and synthetic textiles.
With their low weight and ergonomic shape, they’re a fantastic addition to any scenario involving manual applications. A user-friendly and cost-effective design make the HW series of ultrasonic hand-held welding units a standout choice for manual workstations.

The horn – which is the actual welding tool – is easy to replace, making it an economical option for performing several applications with the same ultrasonic hand-held welding unit.

Fields of application

Ultrasonic hand-held welding units are used in applications where it does not make sense or is not possible to automate welding or cutting operations, such as test welds in test laboratories.

Typical applications include ultrasonic riveting of car door panels or ultrasonic cutting (trimming) of protruding residual material on A/B/C pillars.

Start trigger

In the HW35, the ultrasound trigger takes the form of a pushbutton on the handle – while the HW70 provides it as a footswitch. However, the HW70 ultrasonic hand-held welding unit can also be integrated into a special machine, in which case an external signal controls the ultrasound trigger.

Status available to view on hand-held unit

An integrated LED features on the rear of the ultrasonic hand-held welding unit, keeping the unit’s status in view at all times. It indicates the status of the ultrasound or the generator itself.

  • Green: The unit is ready
  • Yellow: Ultrasound is active
  • Red: An error has occurred

This makes it easier to monitor the welding process and improves process reliability.
This function has only been integrated into the HW35.

Cutting with template horns

For ultrasonic welding, the horns – which are the cutting tools – are designed and manufactured in line with specific customer requirements. However, our range also includes standard horns. Cutting horns can be rotated 90° to adapt the horn position to the cutting direction.
